U8-U9

At Easts, our junior pathway is built around the belief that strong foundations create great players and even better people. The U8–U9 stage is a key step in our Grassroots to Greatness journey, where players begin to apply the skills, confidence, and teamwork developed in earlier years to a more structured rugby environment.
The U8 and U9 age groups progress to 7 a side and 10 a side tackle competitions respectively. Teams compete within BJRU organised fixtures, with rules adhering to ARU and World Rugby Pathway competition laws, ensuring player safety and development remain the priority.
Eligibility
U8: Children born in 2018
U9: Children born in 2017
Players born outside this criteria may be considered only if discussed and formally dispensated by the club
Start date: Friday 13 March
Training:
U8: Fridays, 5:00–6:00pm
U9: Fridays, 6:00–7:00pm
Location: Easts Rugby Union Club
Game days: Saturday mornings
All players must be registered prior to participation including training
